My wife's aunt wants a winter wheelset for her 2012 CR-V, which has the 16" painted steel wheels on it, stock. I figured it'd be easy enough to find used ones for sale, but I'm astounded how tough it seems to be.
For such a popular car (200k+ sold each year) there should be thousands of 'em on the used market by now... but I can't find them. Even Tire Rack is sold out of basic steelies in that size.
I can find new ones for $75 each, but I don't want to spend that much.
So where the hell do all the steel wheels go?

Yeah, had the same problem two years in a row with TireRack. No steelies for the Subi.

$75 a piece seems like a steal compared to stock wheels on cars I've owned.

Salvage yards, as said below. Ask for a full size spare, that way you can USUALLY get a set of brand new never used wheels.
I paid $50 each for my RX300/Highlander spares, and they were like new. Plus they delivered them right to my job. Helps that I work at a car dealer but.....

Maybe the Wheel Stealer has them:
